Clones Lace with Maire Treanor

Friday, August 5, I got to spend one day of a three day Irish Lace Workshop at Steven Be’s  with Maire Treanor, a quiet, delightful, expert teacher of exquisite lace!  Oh my gosh!

Each little part is tacked to a

template and then all the parts are connected, usually with a chain and knot scenario.

Originally, each motif was specific to a single maker, or maker’s family. Trefoils by one family, flowers by another, and yet another would be the connector of the parts into  the whole.
