There once was an ugly yarn…

CherryBlossomTime2Once upon a time……..There was a poor, ugly yarn that nobody loved!  It reminded me of cherry blossoms in Central Park in the spring.

Everyone else was reminded of mud.

So, it sadly sat in the stash for THREE LONG YEARS.  It might have sat there longer, but one lovely day, when the sun was shining and the dye kitchen window was open, it lept in a pot of Sabraset red dye.  It enjoyed itself so much that it then lept in a pot of Sabraset Magenta dye.  And now is is luscious and lovely, glowing garnet and ruby!

The first isn’t bad at all, but oh that second! That’s lovely!

Wow..what a transformation!! I liked the first as well, but I think it would have needed to be woven to really take advantage of the colors. I’ve had some two ply/color yarns that went for “ok” to outrageous just with a simple weave on a rigid heddle loom.

But I love it now!! What are the plans for it?
